Kelly Brown

Associate Vice President

A journalist-turned-marketing and communications professional, Kelly is working at her alma mater after 25-plus years of reporting and editing for newspapers. As Associate Vice President of Marketing & Communications at Texas A&M, Kelly manages the news and social media teams, along with overseeing media relations and crisis communications. Her responsibilities include direction over KAMU TV and radio, both of which are public broadcasting stations. She considers herself lucky to also work alongside the division’s creative and visual crews to advance strategic communication efforts for Texas A&M.

Kelly is the 2018 recipient of the Jack Douglas Award — the top honor given annually to a journalist by the Texas Associated Press Managing Editors. She was inducted in 2019 into the Texas A&M Former Journalism Students Association Hall of Fame. Kelly was a longtime board member for the Freedom of Information Foundation of Texas and the Brazos Valley Sexual Assault Resource Center.
