Texas A&M + America’s 250th Anniversary
The 250th anniversary of the United States provides a unique opportunity to reflect on the ideals that have shaped both our nation and Texas A&M University. As Texas A&M celebrates its own 150th anniversary in this historic year, we will use this milestone to tell the story of our enduring land-grant mission — expanding opportunity through education, developing leaders of character and advancing research that improves lives.

Visual Guidelines
Please refrain from using the America250 logo unless given express permission from Licensing and Business Development or the Division of Marketing and Communications.
Learn about our visual style- Use approved brand logos, colors (Primary: Aggie Maroon #500000, White) and typography (Oswald, Work Sans, Open Sans).

Campus Visibility
- Flags
- The eight Texas A&M logo flags on the front lawn of the Jack K. Williams Building have been temporarily replaced with America250 flags. The flagpoles will be refurbished and taken down for two weeks beginning July 6. Once the flags go back up, the America250 and Texas A&M logo flags will be raised in an alternating pattern through September.
- Light pole banners
- Light pole banners at the front of campus on Texas Avenue and University Avenue will be up from June 20 to Aug. 1.
- 2026 service hours
- The Division of Marketing and Communications will be submitting The Big Event’s total service hours to America250’s America Gives initiative and, therefore, will be counted in the official service hours tracker.
- The broader university community will be prompted via digital signage to submit their own service hours using this submission link, indicating that their organization’s name is Texas A&M University.
- Together, we can show that Texas A&M is not only the best university in the world, but also the best university for the world.

Texas A&M is celebrating America’s 250th anniversary through a wide range of programming. There are multiple ways to reference this event. Here is a guide on how to reference different items surrounding the anniversary.
- America250: America250 is a nonpartisan initiative working to engage every American in commemorating the 250th anniversary of our country. Texas A&M is using its logo on the main campus and in other applications. Utilize this phrase when referring to the nonpartisan initiative.
- Freedom250: A separate organization that is working to engage America in commemorating the 250th anniversary of the United States.
- America 250 or America’s 250th Anniversary: How to generally reference the anniversary and any programming that is not directly tied to an organization. This should be used when referencing the anniversary. Utilize this phrase when referring to the day or celebration itself.
- USA Today America 250 Series: This is in reference to a documentary video series that will feature Texas A&M and will be published on the USA Today website on July 2.

Texas A&M’s Impact on America
At the university, the decorated World War II Navy pilot and former U.S. president found kindred spirits who shared his strong belief in integrity, leadership and service and the desire to be a force for good.
Aggies who were awarded the highest United States Armed Forces honor displayed integrity, leadership, loyalty, respect and selfless service when it mattered most.
Most of the U.S. Treasury replicas hang in state capitols, but the Texas Governor gifted the state’s bell to the Aggies for their enormous wartime sacrifices.
Rudder’s bravery on D-Day exemplified selfless service and integrity, the same values he carried into civilian life as president of the university.
Summer Sea Term cadets will be anchored near Ellis Island for America’s 250th birthday, observing the largest gathering of naval and tall ships since 1976.
Members of the Texas A&M Color Guard, Corps of Cadets’ Ross Volunteer Company and Fish Drill Team will travel to Washington, D.C., to participate in the National Independence Day Parade.
