<h2>Texas A&amp;M 150th Celebration Campaign</h2>
<p>The 150th Celebration Campaign will reinforce how Aggies have always stood together as a force for good. For our 150th anniversary, we will celebrate in a way that honors our legacy and anticipates our future, while reinforcing our larger universitywide Force for Good Brand Platform. The predesigned campaign assets should complement, not replace, brand platform messaging, tone and visual style. Access to 150th marks and editable templates requires a university login.</p>
<p>At the upcoming MarComm Summit, we will discuss how the campaign objectives, audiences, messaging and visual assets can complement and reinforce the brand platform.</p>

<h2>Digital Content Accessibility Deadline Extended to April 2027</h2>
<p>Today, the U.S. Department of Justice published an <a title="https://ecomms.marcomm.tamu.edu/trk/click?ref=z177i6rteh_0-247b_0_0x3fe67x0MWMcgRhRyg" href="https://www.federalregister.gov/documents/2026/04/20/2026-07663/extension-of-compliance-dates-for-nondiscrimination-on-the-basis-of-disability-accessibility-of-web" data-ogsc="rgb(80, 0, 0)" data-outlook-id="716a95a8-f1e0-46a1-a507-81cd762005ca">interim final rule</a> extending the compliance deadline for digital accessibility under Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). For institutions the size of Texas A&amp;M, the original April 2026 deadline has been extended to April 26, 2027. While this additional time provides some welcome flexibility, it is important that the university sustains its current momentum in improving digital accessibility. In particular, federally funded grants and programs remain subject to a May 11, 2026, compliance deadline under <a title="https://ecomms.marcomm.tamu.edu/trk/click?ref=z177i6rteh_0-247b_0_0x3fe82x0MWMcgRhRyg" href="https://www.federalregister.gov/documents/2024/05/09/2024-09237/nondiscrimination-on-the-basis-of-disability-in-programs-or-activities-receiving-federal-financial#dates" data-ogsc="rgb(80, 0, 0)" data-outlook-id="684e81bf-3a75-4115-a9a8-baa74d1a3e5a">Section 504</a>. Previously, this date was not emphasized because it aligned closely with the ADA Title II timeline.</p>

<p>BUILD is a student-led 501(c)(3) that converts shipping containers into fully functional portable health clinics. These student leaders saw an opportunity to scale their impact by partnering with the most subscribed YouTuber on the planet, MrBeast. Beast Philanthropy supported five BUILD containers, known as Texas Aggie Medical Clinics, bound for areas in Texas, Massachusetts, Kenya, Nigeria and Ukraine where access to quality healthcare is limited. We have created a content package so that you can share this story on your channels and highlight the amazing students, faculty and programs that make BUILD unique to Texas A&amp;M.</p>

<p>At Texas A&amp;M, our alumni are called former students — the preferred term for anyone who attended the university. Rooted in the tradition that &#8220;once an Aggie, always an Aggie,&#8221; this term honors all who attended, including those who left early, often for military service.</p>
<h3>Class Year</h3>
<p>As appropriate, include the last two digits of the class year after the name, with an inverted apostrophe. When referring to a former student with multiple degrees, list the degrees in the order in which they were received. <p>The Texas A&amp;M student organization, BUILD, is a student-led 501(c)3 that converts shipping containers into fully functional mobile health clinics. These student leaders saw an opportunity to scale their impact by partnering with the most subscribed YouTuber on the planet, MrBeast. Beast Philanthropy supported five BUILD containers  (Texas Aggie Medical Clinics) bound for communities in Massachusetts, Texas, Kenya, Nigeria and Ukraine.</p>

<h2>Update: Digital Content Accessibility Deadline Extended to April 2027</h2>
<p>Today, the U.S. Department of Justice published an <a title="https://ecomms.marcomm.tamu.edu/trk/click?ref=z177i6rteh_0-247b_0_0x3fe67x0MWMcgRhRyg" href="https://www.federalregister.gov/documents/2026/04/20/2026-07663/extension-of-compliance-dates-for-nondiscrimination-on-the-basis-of-disability-accessibility-of-web" data-ogsc="rgb(80, 0, 0)" data-outlook-id="716a95a8-f1e0-46a1-a507-81cd762005ca">interim final rule</a> extending the compliance deadline for digital accessibility under Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). For institutions the size of Texas A&amp;M, the original April 2026 deadline has been extended to April 26, 2027. While this additional time provides some welcome flexibility, it is important that the university sustains its current momentum in improving digital accessibility. In particular, federally funded grants and programs remain subject to a May 11, 2026, compliance deadline under <a title="https://ecomms.marcomm.tamu.edu/trk/click?ref=z177i6rteh_0-247b_0_0x3fe82x0MWMcgRhRyg" href="https://www.federalregister.gov/documents/2024/05/09/2024-09237/nondiscrimination-on-the-basis-of-disability-in-programs-or-activities-receiving-federal-financial#dates" data-ogsc="rgb(80, 0, 0)" data-outlook-id="684e81bf-3a75-4115-a9a8-baa74d1a3e5a">Section 504</a>. Previously, this date was not emphasized because it aligned closely with the ADA Title II timeline.</p>
<p>As the university community continues to make meaningful progress toward accessible digital documents and platforms, employees are encouraged to continue using the resources available through the <a title="https://ecomms.marcomm.tamu.edu/trk/click?ref=z177i6rteh_0-247b_0_0x3fe83x0MWMcgRhRyg" href="https://itaccessibility.tamu.edu/index.html" data-ogsc="rgb(80, 0, 0)" data-outlook-id="65a872c8-9f6b-4705-af16-57acec3b2443">Digital Accessibility website</a> to ensure digital content is accessible to all. By incorporating accessibility into everyday practices, the university ensures that the knowledge gained through teaching, learning and discovery is available to the widest possible audience. <h2>Enhancing Delivery of Internal Email Communications</h2>
<p>Starting April 9, all current employees will receive their official communications at their NetID email (@tamu.edu), which will be reflected in Workday and cannot be altered by individual employees. A wide group of units are working together to address these challenges, including Human Resources and Organizational Effectiveness, Technology Services, the Division of Marketing and Communications, and the Strategy and Insights team, as a direct response to results outlined in the 2025 Employee Engagement Survey.</p>

<p>Internal communications covers a wide array of responsibilities and expectations among our faculty, staff, students and even external affiliates, and we are here to help! <h2>Enhancing delivery of internal email communications</h2>
<p>Last Friday, <a title="https://ecomms.marcomm.tamu.edu/trk/click?ref=z177i6rteh_0-2307_0_0x3f33ex0MWMcgRhRyg" href="https://atwork.tamu.edu/news/2026/04/03/enhancing-delivery-of-internal-email-communications/" data-ogsc="rgb(80, 0, 0)" data-outlook-id="fff852c3-be26-4e9d-9712-4e3fd3d61d87">information regarding the first phase of work</a> to improve how the university can communicate with its employees — a comprehensive effort looking at the systems, tools and data that support communications, as well as other university functions — was shared with our university community. Starting April 9, all current employees will receive their official communications at their <a class="ms-outlook-linkify" href="mailto:NetID@tamu.edu" data-ogsc="">NetID@tamu.edu</a> email address, which will be reflected in Workday and cannot be altered by individual employees. A wide group of units are working together to address these challenges, including Human Resources and Organizational Effectiveness (HROE), Technology Services, the Division of Marketing and Communications, and the Strategy and Insights team, as a direct response to results outlined in the 2025 Employee Engagement survey.</p>
<h2>Reminder: Digital Content Accessibility Deadline Is April 24</h2>
<p>Take action if you haven’t already: We all have a shared responsibility to ensure university websites and our online presence meet federal accessibility requirements for each individual who engages with our digital content. As a reminder, digital content includes websites, online services, PDFs, social media graphics, videos and any other digital content your unit produces or publishes.</p>
<p>The deadline to remediate inaccessible digital assets in accordance with the June 2024 update for Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Texas House Bill 5195 (HB 5195) is April 24.
