Texas A&M’s Impact on America

At the university, the decorated World War II Navy pilot and former U.S. president found kindred spirits who shared his strong belief in integrity, leadership and service and the desire to be a force for good.

Aggies who were awarded the highest United States Armed Forces honor displayed integrity, leadership, loyalty, respect and selfless service when it mattered most.

Most of the U.S. Treasury replicas hang in state capitols, but the Texas Governor gifted the state’s bell to the Aggies for their enormous wartime sacrifices.

Rudder’s bravery on D-Day exemplified selfless service and integrity, the same values he carried into civilian life as president of the university.

Summer Sea Term cadets will be anchored near Ellis Island for America’s 250th birthday, observing the largest gathering of naval and tall ships since 1976.

Members of the Texas A&M Color Guard, Corps of Cadets’ Ross Volunteer Company and Fish Drill Team will travel to Washington, D.C., to participate in the National Independence Day Parade.
